Hello backers,
Just wanted to give you some feedback and a status update on where we are with shipping.
1) Comments - we read all comments and even reach out to those with questions where we can but going forward please can you email us on [email protected]. We are likely to miss a comment (asking for an address change or order status) so it really is best to email.
We really appreciate all your support and notes of praise - thank you. We are sorry to hear some of you are unhappy - we are doing the best we can.
2) Messages - please just email us on [email protected], don't use the KickStarter messaging service as it's harder for us to process and respond to - it screws up formatting etc.
3) Communicating shipping status and sending tracking numbers is severely hindered by the shipping company we're using, who sometimes respond with 1-2 days and sometimes do not reply for - literally - 2-3 weeks. We constantly chase them for shipping out orders faster and for updating tracking numbers as soon as they ship. Unfortunately, they do it when they want, not when we ask.
4) We are still doing everything we can to ship everything before Christmas.
5) Once we've shipped everything, we will send an update informing you all of this. Please don't contact us before then asking where your reward is, if at all possible. If you still don't have the flask 2 weeks after we send the "all done" update, DO contact us and we'll resolve it as quickly as we can.

Shipping more than 50% done

1) We've shipped over 1000 orders now so almost done with KS orders and will soon start shipping IGG.
2) After a very long back and forth with the factory and the logistics company and a bit of a mess with stock management and discrepancies between shipped and reported numbers it turned out that 200 lids were not made which mean that many orders with lids were not being shipped. these lids are being made now and will be shipped to the logistics company next week at which point all orders with lids will be shipped. Sincere apologies to those backers who were early but are having to wait so long. We are dealing with constant empty promises and misleading information from the suppliers and it's extremely frustrating for us too when all we want is to get the project completed ASAP.
3) The project is now in severe losses (10's of thousands of dollars) and is being personally funded by me to complete it. Leave a tip if you can to [email protected] but no problem if you can't or don't want to. We'll still ship it all out regardless.
4) We have one last batch to ship now and hope it will be with you all before Christmas. Sorry it's taking so long but you will 100% get your flask very soon now.
5) Once more a reminder that this is a KickStarter project. It was not a pre-order. You backer and helped an idea get to real life and you did not order something on Amazon. There are no all metal flasks out there, this is an entirely new product and as a result many things were done for the first time ever hence the longer time than anticipated. Nor were we seasoned manufacturing professionals. If you've never managed a project similar to this I suggest you try doing so first and then commenting and complaining.
6) Do not email contact@ with "where's my flask" questions. We are inundated with them, including those which are from people who are clearly not reading the update emails.
7) Despite the skeptics who think we will be launching a huge profitable business of Forever Flasks - we won't be. All metal flasks are desired by only a few and even those are not prepared to pay what would make it a profitable product ($80 or so). So this is it. Once we've shipped it all out and sold off the few 100 extra there will be no more. We'll keep a few for warranty replacement as promised, don't worry.

shipping update - about 60% done

Dear backers
We've shipped about 1000 rewards out of about 1600.
Shipping is slow due to mixed orders, batches (not all in one) shipping from factory to logistics company, some missing stock of small odd items in some orders (e.g. orders of flask + mug + lid) etc. Standard logistics stuff but this is our first large scale manufacturing project so unfortunately we're getting these unforeseen issues.
We're working through the orders, as you can see about 60% through and hope to complete all in the next 2-4 weeks.
We're sorry about the delays but absolutely assure you that you will get your reward of the flask or mug or combination of very shortly now.
I understand it's very frustrating and apologise sincerely.
